Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Pricing and Investment
Q: How is the overall cost for a mural determined? For example, how much does a $10' x 12' mural cost?
A: The size of the wall is only one factor. The investment is primarily determined by the complexity and level of detail required for the artwork. A simple, large-scale design (like an expansive sky or landscape) requires a different level of time and intricacy than a highly detailed, figurative composition. We will provide a clear quote once we define the design scope together.
Q: What is the typical cost for a custom mural?
A: My work is bespoke, museum-quality art, and as such, there is no "average" piece. Projects for a custom, commissioned mural generally begin at $20,000. This baseline ensures the highest standards in artistry, materials, and execution.
Logistics and Installation
Q: I'm concerned about making a permanent investment if I decide to move homes in the future.
A: This is a very common and valid concern. The vast majority of my murals are painted on high-quality canvas in my studio, not directly on the wall. This unique process ensures the mural is a truly portable piece of fine art. Should you move, the entire mural can be easily removed and re-installed at your new location. I personally handle the secure, one-day installation, which involves gluing the canvas directly to your wall or ceiling with minimal disruption.
Q: Where is your studio located, and what is your travel range?
A: I am based in the New York City Metropolitan Area, but my work is not geographically limited. Since my murals are created on canvas, they can be safely rolled, shipped, and installed anywhere in the world. I have successfully completed commissions both nationally and internationally, traveling as far as Egypt for projects.
The Commission Process
Q: I love your work, but I'm not sure exactly what I want for my space.
A: That's the most exciting part! Commissioning a mural should be a highly enjoyable and collaborative process. We begin with a Discovery Phase where I present three distinct design concepts for your space, each accompanied by its own pricing tier. This allows us to explore a range of stylistic possibilities before collaboratively refining a single concept into the final, approved sketch.
Q: What if I am not satisfied with the finished mural?
A: I guarantee client satisfaction because the final result is a product of continuous collaboration. You are involved at every stage of the painting process. I provide regular progress updates via detailed photographs and am happy to host virtual studio conferences via Zoom for real-time review. There are no surprises; the finished piece will be exactly the artwork we have approved together.
